The transition from education to finding work in the dance sector can be brutal. Dancing used to be fun, it used to be every day, rehearsals used to consume your time, your body used to be your concentration, being part of creativity used to be easy. The rejections in rehearsals and applications were not what you expected. There is a distinct feeling that time is running out. As you get older, slower, stiffer, bigger, the fear sets in that a life of data entry and daydreaming in staff toilets is closer than you ever imagined it would be. You wake up one day and you´ve abandoned everything you´ve learnt. You want more than anything to move, but you´ve forgotton how. You´ve forgotton how to dance.

“Flip” was one single handheld shot whereas “All you need now” was made of 3 different takes.

Short documentary made on request for the I Sense Lomo contest and exhibitions that took place in Barcelona, Spain in June 2011.

I tried imitating the “Lomo look” in postproduction, using doble exposure, high saturation and high contrast as well as lens flares and light leaks.

I Sense Lomo was organised by Mio Hayashi (Gigi&Luka Branding). The concept was developed by Filipa Fabrica (IAMFABRICA).

The documentary was co-directed by Justin Donlon and myself. I also shot and edited the video.

The soundtrack music is a band called Anitek. They kindly allow to use their tunes with a Creative Commons license.

Created as part of Off Loop, a series of video installations and performances in collaboration with the Loop Festival, GAP‘s production of Samuel Beckett’s one-act play features projections providing a complementary storyline to the eponymous hero’s life. Performed in the play’s original English with Matt Kemp of the New English Theatre Society starring as Krapp.

Test of cloning myself. I used Reckoner song by Radiohead and as you see I don’t know the lyrics Another lesson learnt is that Automatic White Balance is a really bad idea. I had to convert to B/W as in the original color version the colors of the wall did not match.
